Mr. Adams has stated that he has served well in his capacity as the National Organizer and it is time to bow out gracefully and serve in another capacity to ensure the party obtains victory in 2020.
Speaking to Citi News, He, however, declined to reveal the next position he may occupy but has assured that in due time he will announce it.“I will be doing something else, what I intend doing, I am not announcing it now, when the time is up, you will see it, but I am not running for the office of National Organiser when nomination opens, ” he said.
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) on Monday, July 16th opened nominations for regional positions.
Last month, delegates of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) voted across the country to elect Constituency Executives.
This forms part of the party’s process of electing national officers ahead of the 2020 election.
The areas the voted include Odododiodioo in the Greater Accra Region, Bimbilla in the Nanumba North constituency, the Ashanti Region and the Volta Region.
The Akatsi South constituency election would have been marred by violence if the National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) Regional Executives, the Member of Parliament for the constituency and security personnel had not intervened.
Former Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA), Sylvester Mensah and Former Trade Minister, Ekwow Spio-Garbrah have both formally declared their bid for NDC presidential ticket.
94 NDC MPs endorse Mahama
Ahead of the party’s presidential election, 94 NDC Members of Parliament out of 106 have reportedly endorsed John Dramani Mahama to lead the party in the 2020 elections.
According to the leader of the 94 MPs, Edwin Nii Lantey Vandapuye, John Mahama is the only candidate who can lead the party to victory in the next polls.
